Founder & Managing Director / Bird Photography Guide
Rafael is a renowned birder and bird photographer from Barcelona. With over 35 years of experience in the field and a deep passion for bird photography, his extensive knowledge and expertise are the driving force behind our photo tours. He has travelled across all five continents photographing wildlife in some of the world’s most inspiring and remote locations.
He is the author of the book Portfolio 1: Photographs and Stories of Extraordinary Birds, published by Lynx Nature Books in 2024. His work has received major international recognition, including two Gold Awards in the Bird Photographer of the Year competition, Overall Winner at the Belgian Namur Photo Festival, and the Mammals category award at the French Festival Photo Montier, among other prizes.
Rafael is also an Ambassador for Canon Spain, and his images have been published in leading international nature and ornithology media. He has recorded nearly 450 bird species in Spain and over 700 across the Western Palearctic.
