Rafa is a renowned birder and bird photographer from Barcelona. With over 35 years of experience in the field and a deep passion for bird photography, his extensive knowledge and expertise are the driving force behind our photo tours. He has travelled across all five continents photographing wildlife in some of the world's most inspiring and remote locations.
He is the author of the book Portfolio I: Photographs and Stories of Extraordinary Birds, published by Lynx Nature Books in 2024. His work has received major international recognition, including two Gold Awards in the Bird Photographer of the Year competition, Overall Winner at the Belgian Namur Photo Festival, and the Mammals category award at the French Festival Photo Montier, among other prizes.
Rafael is also an Ambassador for Canon Spain, NYA-Evo bags, and his images have been published in leading international nature and ornithology media. He has recorded nearly 450 bird species in Spain and over 700 across the Western Palearctic.
Rafa es un reconocido observador y fotógrafo de aves de Barcelona. Con más de 35 años de experiencia en el campo y una profunda pasión por la fotografía de aves, su gran conocimiento y experiencia son el motor de nuestros tours fotográficos. Ha viajado por los cinco continentes fotografiando fauna salvaje en algunos de los lugares más remotos e inspiradores del mundo.
Es autor del libro Portfolio I: Photographs and Stories of Extraordinary Birds, publicado por Lynx Nature Books en 2024. Su obra ha recibido un gran reconocimiento internacional, incluyendo dos Premios de Oro en el concurso Bird Photographer of the Year, Ganador Absoluto en el Festival de Fotografía de Namur (Bélgica) y el premio en la categoría de Mamíferos en el Festival Photo Montier (Francia), entre otros galardones.
Rafael también es Embajador de Canon España y de las mochilas NYA-Evo, y sus imágenes han sido publicadas en importantes medios internacionales de naturaleza y ornitología. Ha registrado cerca de 450 especies de aves en España y más de 700 en todo el Paleártico Occidental.

Amb més de 35 anys d'experiència al camp i una profunda passió per la fotografia d'ocells, el seu extens coneixement i experiència són el motor dels nostres tours fotogràfics. Ha viatjat per tots cinc continents fotografiant fauna salvatge en alguns dels indrets més remots i inspiradors del món.
