The Black Wheatear (Oenanthe leucura) is a resident species of dry, open Mediterranean landscapes, closely associated with rocky areas, stone walls and sparsely vegetated terrain. Its sedentary behaviour, strong site fidelity and frequent use of exposed perches make it particularly suitable for photography, allowing repeated and predictable opportunities when conditions are right.
