Rafael is one of our Birding Guides and Tour Leaders in Colombia, based in Cundinamarca. With a background as an environmental engineer, he combines his professional training with a deep passion for birds and the natural landscapes of the Andes.
He is the founder of Aviturismo Villeta and has more than eight years of field experience guiding birders across Colombia, particularly in the Eastern Andes region, where he has developed a strong familiarity with local habitats and birdlife.
Rafael combines solid knowledge with practical field skills, helping visitors explore Colombia’s remarkable avifauna through careful observation and productive time in the field.

Rafael Humberto González Moreno is an Environmental Engineer, environmental educator, academic, researcher, and lecturer with a deep passion for nature, birds, and the relationship between people and the environment.
He is the founder of Aviturismo Villeta and plays an active role in the design and development of nature-based tourism routes and experiences. Rafael has contributed to the creation of wildlife-focused tourism products across different regions and countries, helping to structure meaningful and sustainable travel programmes.
With more than eight years of field experience guiding birdwatchers of all levels, he works as a specialized ornithology guide throughout Colombia, combining scientific knowledge with practical expertise in the field.
